Good questions, real answers
The stuff people usually wonder before reaching out.
Is this going to be a pushy sales pitch?
Nope — promise. I show you what fits, answer your questions, and you decide in your own time. No pressure, ever.
Do I have to buy anything?
Not at all. Plenty of people just want to see the cutlery and ask questions — that's genuinely welcome.
What is Cutco?
Cutco is an American kitchen cutlery brand that's been making knives and kitchen tools in Olean, New York since 1949. The full line covers kitchen knives, scissors, peelers, serving pieces, and table knives — all made in the USA and all backed by the Forever Guarantee. You can browse the entire product line at cutco.com.
What is Vector Marketing?
Vector Marketing is the company that distributes Cutco products through independent sales reps like me. I work as a Cutco rep through Vector — think of it as being an authorized local contact for Cutco. I don't set my own prices (they match cutco.com exactly), and you order directly through Cutco. Vector is not an MLM: I don't recruit you, and I don't earn from a "downline" — I'm here to help you find the right stuff.
Honestly — why are some people skeptical of Cutco?
Fair question, and I'd rather answer it than dodge it. Cutco is sold by independent reps through Vector Marketing, and some people have run into pushy reps or heard "MLM" and tuned out. I get it. Here's my deal: it's not MLM — I don't recruit you to buy in, and I don't earn from a "downline." I just help you find the right cutlery, you buy directly from Cutco at the same prices listed on cutco.com, and the product is genuinely good and guaranteed for life. If I ever feel pushy, call me on it.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary a lot by piece and set — single knives cost far less than full blocks, and Cutco sets the prices, not me. The prices shown on this site are a July 2026 snapshot and aren't guaranteed current; confirm current pricing on cutco.com (it's fully public) or with me during a demo. There are also payment options like interest-free EasyPay — ask and I'll explain. One honest way to think about it: cheap knife sets go dull and get replaced every few years. Cutco costs more once — then it's sharpened free and guaranteed forever, so you never buy knives again.
Is pricing public, or do I have to sit through a demo to see it?
Fully public. Every current price is on cutco.com, and I don't get special prices — you buy directly from Cutco at the same numbers. The demo isn't about hiding prices; it's about narrowing 89 pieces down to the few that fit you.
How long does the demo take?
The full experience is about an hour — that's the one to book. I'm flexible, but the hour is the fun version: time for the rope cut, the tomatoes, and to actually talk it through instead of rushing. In person or over video. (Already know exactly what you want? Text me and we'll handle it in about 20 minutes.)
How does the Forever Guarantee work?
Cutco's Forever Guarantee covers free sharpening and service for life, per Cutco's current terms (a small return-shipping fee applies). If a product doesn't perform the way it should, Cutco corrects it or replaces it — no drama. New purchases also come with a 15-day money-back window. Full details are on Cutco's site — or just ask me and I'll walk you through it.
How does the sharpening work?
When a blade loses its edge, send it back to Cutco and they sharpen it — free. A small return shipping fee is all that applies, and there's no limit on how many times you can use it. Text me at 312-659-4280 and I'll walk you through the whole process so you don't have to figure out any paperwork.
What if I already own Cutco?
Great — that means you already know the quality. I can help you fill gaps in your set, point you toward owner promotions, or walk through sharpening your existing pieces. No need to buy anything new; I'm happy to help with what you already have.
What if I don't cook much?
Still worth a look. A good chef's knife and a pair of kitchen shears cover most of what a light cook needs — and they'll last a lifetime. I'll always show you only what makes sense for how you actually cook, never more.
How long does shipping take?
Most standard orders arrive in approximately 7–10 business days. Express shipping is available for an additional charge. I'll keep you updated from order to doorstep.
What if I just have a quick question?
Text me — 312-659-4280 — or email lukehansen01@gmail.com. I'm always happy to help, no strings attached.
Can I just buy one piece?
Absolutely — and honestly, one great piece is the right call for a lot of kitchens. Sometimes the smartest answer is one knife, a gift idea, or nothing right now. Starting small is a feature, not a compromise: everything carries the same Forever Guarantee.
Why not just shop online?
You can — cutco.com is right there, and I'll never pretend otherwise. What the demo adds: you see the pieces work, I narrow 89 options down to the few that fit how you actually cook, and you get a local person afterward for sharpening, service, and gifts. Buying cold online means guessing; the demo removes the guessing.
What if I know nothing about knives?
Perfect — that's who the demo is for. You don't need to know a santoku from a slicer. Tell me what you cook and what annoys you in the kitchen, and I'll translate that into two or three options in plain English.
What if I only want to compare options for now?
Great — do it here. The catalog on this site has all 89 pieces with photos and July-2026 snapshot prices, no account or popups. When you want a second opinion on a shortlist, text it to me and I'll tell you what I'd actually pick and why.
What happens if I buy nothing?
Then you buy nothing, and that's a fine outcome. You'll still leave knowing what fits your kitchen and what doesn't, and we part as neighbors. Some of my best referrals come from people who bought nothing.
Someone referred me, but I'm not sure. What should I expect?
Your friend saw a demo and thought of you — that's all a referral is. There's no script and no obligation attached to their name. Start on the referred page to see exactly what a demo looks like, or just text me with questions first.
When are you actually available?
During the school year, I'm at DePauw, so video demos are easiest. When I'm back on the North Shore, in-person demos may be possible — Winnetka, Glencoe, Northbrook, Evanston. Either way, grab any open slot on the booking page and we'll make it work.
If it’s not useful for you, I’d rather tell you that. The demo exists to narrow options and answer questions — what you do with the answers is entirely up to you.
The Forever Guarantee, explained
It's the part people underestimate most. Here's what "guaranteed for life" actually means — in plain English.
Forever sharp
When a blade loses its edge, send it in and Cutco sharpens it — free, for life. A small return shipping fee is all that applies.
Performance, guaranteed
If your Cutco ever doesn't perform the way it should, Cutco corrects it or replaces the product. No drama.
Travels with the owner
The guarantee follows the product, not the receipt — so gifts and hand-me-downs are covered the same as a first purchase.
15-day money back
New purchases come with a 15-day, no-questions money-back window. Try it in your kitchen first.
What if I chip or damage it myself?
Damage from normal household use may qualify for correction or replacement. Damage from unconventional use is generally eligible for replacement at half the current retail price, subject to Cutco's current terms. Details at cutco.com.
How do I actually use the guarantee?
Easiest path: just text me — 312-659-4280. I'll walk you through sharpening, service, or a replacement so you don't have to figure out any paperwork.
Full, current guarantee terms are on Cutco's official site — read the Forever Guarantee at cutco.com.
Ready to see it for yourself?
No obligation — just a relaxed look at the cutlery, answered questions, and you decide what's right. Book whenever works for you.
